Incoming Interns here is an update on what the Lord has done this summer! Take a look and read what the Lord has done; let your heart celebrate with us!
China B (Project Directors - Tim Edwards & Jamie Edwards)
“On Sunday morning our team (one of two) went to a small Chinese church in Hong Kong. It was basically in a small store on the bottom floor of a shopping mall. Even though that was the case, the people of the church welcomed us with outstretched arms and a warm hello. It was a very interesting setting. It was very different to be bowing your head and listening to a prayer that you couldn’t understand. We sang in English while the rest of the church is singing in Chinese, which was quite a challenge but so much fun. The message took two times as long as a normal message because after every sentence, there had to be a pause for a translator to translate. The best part was when someone accepted Christ. Everyone prayed with him and applauded. There was no fear in the man’s eyes, just excitement. Church ended with smiles on everyone’s faces. To conclude the service they took us to a delicious Chinese restaurant and I ate enough food to last a lifetime. Church was absolutely amazing.”
Botswana B (Project Directors - Keith Jacobson & Molly Curfman)
“Hello from Botswana! Our teams are doing well here, busy with ministry (Thank God for the things we've seen). We are being encouraged from your messages and we'll try to get pictures up on the web as soon as we can find internet that allows us on for more than a few moments. Testimonies from missionaries will be posted in a couple of days; there are great stories to share about the goodness of the Lord.”
Costa Rica B (Project Directors - Rex & Amy Albers)
“Yesterday, after our drama, I was praying that the crowd would stay and be interested in what we had to say. There was a woman in the crowd with her daughter who was really interested in our drama and message. I felt that God wanted me to go and talk to her. When my group went up to her, she asked for prayer right away. Everyone on my team prayed for her and her family. She was crying after we prayed for her. She told us that she had a lot of problems in her life and that she had emptiness. We told her that the only thing that could fill her emptiness would be to have a relationship with Christ. That day she gave her life to Christ. This just made me realize even more that people in Costa Rica are searching for something and that something is not the things of the world, but what God has to offer us.”
New Zealand B (Project Directors - Paul & Jessica Gibson)
“Today is our 2nd day of ministry. Yesterday both teams did a work project for YWAM and Personal Evangelism at the mall. Today one team is going to do the drama outside of a school and minister at a skate park. Team Two is on their way to Hellensville today for a few days of ministry at a local church. We will post more testimonies shortly. All missionaries are having a great time and are all healthy.”
Panama B (Project Directors - Adam Canales & Janice Tanzo)
“The last couple days here in Panama City have been filled with excitement and anticipation for what is taking place today--departure to the different villages and islands! Just earlier today we had some teams head out to 3 separate villages: Kuna Nega, Loma Coba, and Boo Yala. In just a few hours the rest of the teams will be going to the San Blas Islands; specifically Carti Mulatupu, Carti Suitupu, and Rio Cidre. The teams are doing really well and totally psyched for what God has mapped out these next couple weeks. We have committed before God and each other to live out of the OVERFLOW this next month....our prayer is that out of the overflow of our hearts for the Lord, our mouths will speak His truth. Please be praying for us all this week as we dive into what God is doing in these specific places.”
Romania B
"Buna!" from Romania! Well, our first week of ministry has been going really well! After all our drama and ministry training we set out for to the streets of Romania to share the love of Jesus through drama ministry, orphanage ministry to babies in hospitals, and one on one evangelism. Whew! What a week! We've even had a chance to do VBS/sidewalk Sunday school in parks around the city, ministering to children through games, songs, Bible stories, fun moral stories, and lots of creative kid activities. What fun! Thank you for all your prayers! The Lord is reaching Romania through us! Hallelujah!”
Thailand B (Project Directors - Dave & Beth Coggins)
“Christ's Ambassador's to Thailand arrived on Saturday after a total of 22 hours on a plane. They were pumped to be in "The Land of Smiles," but were drained from the travel. They met the rest of their team that has been in Thailand for the last month, did some ministry training, and went to bed early. Sunday we were able to join in worship with the Hope of Chiang Mai church. Then we went up to Doi Sutep, which is a popular Buddhist temple, to prayer walk. There was a beautiful overlook of Chiang Mai. We prayed God's power and glory to fall over the city. Finally we went to a beautiful flower garden in a valley and commissioned the teams to reach the wonderful people of Thailand.”
Thailand Church Planting (Project Directors - Dave & Beth Coggins)
“The Hill Tribes are hungry for truth and redemption. Today God led us to a midge couple among a Karen village. After committing their lives to Christ the man confess he is the head of the village...God is faithful, he has led us to the "key" people wherever we go. We have been able to witness to civilians as well as well as authorities wherever we go. Our lives have been impacted by their love too. One village in Laos gathered all the eggs and rice they could find to provide all of us with dinner... That is the best eggs and rice we've ever had. That same night five people in that village made a decision to follow Christ. From the villagers in Laos, to the cooks at the restaurant in the National Park, to the head of the Karen Tribe one thing we all rejoice in the fact that neither the one who planet or the one who waters can claim to be anything, but it is God who makes things grow1 (I Cor 3:7). Some of us will be taking a Bible to the Karen converts next week. The head of the village agreed to hold Bible studies in His home. As a side notes the day we prayed for salvations and claimed "today is the day of salvation" that was the first day of a series of conversions. Pray that our faith may increase and we may remain faithful to His work.”
God Bless you all!
